The following selection of current and recently completed case studies is presented for information and reference to provide an indication of the full range of services supplied on an all risk lump sum design and delivery basis.

Countryside Properties Ltd
This former greyhound track closed in 2020 during the start of the coronavirus pandemic and was purchased by Countryside Properties Ltd, to be remediated into a site suitable for housing. Belle Vue greyhound stadium was thought to be the UK’s largest and oldest greyhound track at its time of closing.

Barratt Manchester
Acquired by Barratt Manchester for residential development of 120 units the site was originally a cotton mill prior to 1872, expanding through the 20th century to include rail infrastructure prior to demolition between 1975 & 1992. The site included mill buildings and a large area of lagoons, described variously as mill ponds and settling tanks.

Former Gasworks Lostock Hall
Located in Lostock Hall, near Preston, this former gas works site spread over 30 acres has been acquired by Morris Homes for redevelopment of 280 homes and associated infrastructure.

Former Enterprise Park, Wigan
Acquired by Barratt Manchester for residential development this 26.5 acre site comprises the entirety of the Former Enterprise Park site. Most recently the site was used as a commercial and industrial development incorporating seven large buildings and numerous smaller buildings.

Loco Works, Horwich
Horwich Loco Works was originally railway sidings linking the former Horwich Loco Works to the mainline, dating back to the late 19th century. Also present on the site, a former town gasworks, and historic sludge beds and large deposits of slag. The site itself was compromised by high levels of metal contamination, leaching into the adjacent Nellie’s Clough watercourse, typified by a strong ochre discolouration.

Former Leyland Test Track
Acquired by Barratt Manchester for residential development this 106 acre historic commercial vehicle testing site required remediation and installation of significant surface water management as part of the 900 home development for Barratt Group.

Former MountheathInd. Est. Prestwich
Acquired by Bellway Homes for a low rise residential development comprising 112 No. residential dwellings with associated gardens, estate roads and infrastructure, the earliest historical mapping of the site from 1848 records the site as a bleach and dye works.

Former Tetrosyl Site Bury
Acquired by Barratt Manchester for residential development this 25.5 acre site comprises the entirety of the Tetrosyl works together with a mill lodge and adjacent, previously undeveloped, open land.

Lock Lane – Partington
The land at Lock Lane, Partington was approximately 38 acres of historical agricultural land and flood plain. Prior to the construction of the Manchester Ship Canal, which runs adjacent to the site, the River Mersey originally meander through the parcel of land.

MMU Alsager
The former MMU Alsager College was positioned on a 32-acre site which was spilt 50/50 between playing fields and college buildings / infrastructure.

North Leigh ParkPhase 1A1
Acquired by Countryside Properties plc working in conjunction with Wigan MBC this project heralded the preliminary phase of the regeneration of the large strategic, predominantly residential development site, known as North Leigh Park

Watch FactoryPrescot
Acquired by Livv Housing Group, the site is to be developed by Vistry Partnerships for 2 storey redevelopment. Known as the former Watch Factory, Phase 1 & 2 of the site have been remediated by others in 2013, however development levels were not prepared. Phases 3 & 4 constitute an area of existing properties still be demolished and fully remediated. Phases 1 & 2 require reprofiling to suit newly developed proposed levels
